Core industry collections
Our core industry collections cover industries recognized by national industry coding systems, unlike our specialized industry collections, which cover industries outside national industry coding systems.
Our core industry collections are our primary and original products, which laid the foundation for our subsequent collections.
Industries in the core collection are the most mature and established industries. Over time, many core industries develop and branch into multiple sub-industries, many of which are included in our specialized industry collections.
The table below shows what countries we offer core Industry Reports for, the coding system that these reports are aligned to, and the number of reports available.
Country | Coding system | Number of reports |
Australia | ANZSIC | 500+ |
New Zealand | ANZSIC | 200+ |
United States | NAICS | 650+ |
Canada | NAICS | 400+ |
United Kingdom | UK SIC | 400+ |
Ireland | NACE | 100+ |
Germany | WZ | 400+ |
Europe | ISIC | 400+ |
Mexico | SCIAN | 50+ |
China | CICS | 250+ |
Global | N/A | 50+ |
What’s included in a core Industry Report?
Most core Industry Reports follow the Standard Industry Report template. Standard Industry Reports are our most robust and detailed reports. They contain all sections within each chapter and the highest level of analysis.
The Europe Collection, however, consists of industry reports in the Spotlight and Factsheet templates, which are variations of the Standard Industry Reports with different levels of data and analysis. These reports cover industries at both the continent and country level.
Learn more about the Europe Collection in our European Coverage article.
Specialized industry collections
Unlike core industry collections which cover industries recognized by national industry coding systems, specialized industry collections cover prominent and emerging industries that fall outside of national industry coding systems. Many specialized industries cover a subset of a more mature industry that is covered in the core collection.
For example, the Watch Stores industry is a sub-industry of the Jewelry Stores industry.
This table shows what countries we offer Specialized industry collections for and the number of reports available for each country.
Country | Number of reports |
Australia | 250+ |
United States | 800+ |
United Kingdom | 150+ |
What’s included in a Specialized Industry Report?
Specialized Industry Reports follow the Standard Industry Report or Spotlight Industry Report templates.
As described above, Standard Industry Reports are our most robust and detailed reports, containing the full level of content.
Spotlight Industry Reports cover the prominent chapters and sections in Standard Industry Reports. Some information in Standard Industry Reports isn't included due to a lack of available data.
On-demand reports
While most of our Specialized Industry Reports are available now, we also offer on-demand titles written upon request. On-demand reports are delivered within five business days and are added to the specialized collection.
State and provincial collections
US State Industry Reports and Canada Provincial Industry Reports follow the same template. The template includes industry information from the standard template, adapted to benchmark regional performance against national averages and understand local insights.
US State Industry Reports cover 500+ industries across all 50 states and Canada Provincial Industry Reports cover 150+ industries across all provinces and territories.
