What are AU & NZ Enterprise Profiles?

IBISWorld’s AU & NZ Enterprise Profiles analyse the leading 5,000 Australian and New Zealand enterprises, including:

  • Listed and unlisted public companies

  • Private companies

  • Government organisations

  • Partnerships, trusts (including superannuation), co-operatives and associations

  • Hospitals

Each profile contains information about an enterprise’s directors, key personnel, financials and ownership structure, and its auditors, bankers and solicitors.

What’s the difference between the three types of enterprise profiles?

Enterprise Premium Profiles

These focus on organisations listed as major players in a core industry. Each report offers more detailed information, including company activities and cross-directorships, and analyses the competitive environment.

Enterprise Profiles

These focus on companies that are not major players in a core industry. Each report has eight chapters and includes full financials for each company.

Enterprise Limited Profiles

These focus on organisations that are not major players in a core industry and include limited financials (only revenue and employees).

What’s included in each chapter of a profile?

Company Details

The Company Details chapter provides a high-level overview of an organisation and summarises the key insights contained in the full report.

Overview

The Overview gives a visual snapshot of how the company has performed over the past five years, analysing revenue, assets, net profit after tax (NPAT) and employee numbers.

The Overview section

The Description and Company Snapshot provide basic company information, letting you know exactly where the company is based, how to contact them and in which industry it operates. The Company Snapshot also provides the information you need to conduct further research, such as the company’s Australian Business Number and its Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) code (if applicable).

Industries of Operation (Premium Profiles Only)

Here you’ll find the industries in which a company operates and those in which it is a major player, with links to each industry of operation in IBISWorld’s Industry Report collection. Use this section to zoom out from the enterprise level and investigate the big picture.

In this chapter, you’ll find common financial analysis ratios, such as return on shareholder funds, gearing, interest cover, current ratio, profit per employee and earnings per share. This chapter provides key growth and financial ratios for each company over the past five years alongside the industry average, offering an extensive overview of the company’s performance over the past five years.

Industries of Operation

The Industries of Operation chapter builds on the information presented in the Company Details overview at the start of each company’s Enterprise Profile. It revisits the company’s market share breakdown by industry before analysing how it performs in each of its industries.

If the company is a major player in an industry, its profile will provide a bar graph breakdown of its market share in that industry compared with that of its peers within IBISWorld's Industry Report collection (if applicable). For industries where the company is not a major player, the profile will provide a snapshot of key information from that industry (industry size, number of enterprises, industry concentration and turnover growth rate). Each of these sections links to the corresponding IBISWorld Industry Report for your convenience.
