Accessing State and Provincial Data in the Industry Wizard

Get a step-by-step guide for filtering your results by geography.

Updated over a week ago

This article applies to US and Canada Industry Wizard subscribers with access to the US State or Canada Provincial Industry Reports.

This guide uses the US Industry Wizard as an example. The same steps apply for the Canada Industry Wizard.

  1. To enable the States filter, select Wages, Revenue, Establishments, Enterprises or Employment under the Industry Performance or Industry Timeseries dropdown. Click into Industry Data, Growth Rates or Industry Ratios to select relevant metrics.

2. Once you’ve selected your performance or time series filters, you can select the States filter.

3. Once you've selected the States filter, you can choose which states you'd like to include in the results.

If you know which state to target and want to see a top-to-bottom list of all industries in that state, select one state from the list.

If you know the sector you'd like to target, but you don't know which states offer the most opportunity, you can generate a list of all states within a specific sector by clicking Check all in the States filter then selecting a sector in the Industries/Sectors dropdown.

4. When you’ve selected your state(s), click View Results to analyze your custom industry list.

5. The results will include state and national industries. Export your list to Excel to sort and filter the results.
