How do I use the Industry Wizard?

You can use the Industry Wizard in two ways. You can use our pre-defined Quick Lists or create your own custom lists from scratch.

Quick lists

We have 26 Quick Lists, including current year Key Statistics for all industries, fastest and slowest growing industries, industries impacted by a rise in interest rates, Future Stars and more. You can find the Quick Lists at the bottom of the left-hand menu in the Industry Wizard.

You can edit Quick Lists to meet your specific needs.

Custom lists

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can create a custom list from scratch by selecting criteria from the left-hand menu.

Let’s say you want to prospect for clients in industries with high revenue growth, above-average exports and low risk scores. Follow these steps to create a custom industry list:

  1. To filter by revenue growth, open the “Growth Rates” dropdown in the “Industry Performance” section of the left-hand menu and select “Revenue.” Manually adjust the “Rate of growth” scale to your desired range.

The Revenue criteria selected in the left-hand navigation menu of the Industry Wizard.

  2. To filter by exports, select “Exports” under “Growth Rates” in the “Industry Performance” section of the left-hand menu. To only include industries with exports above the national average, unselect “Below National Average.”

The Revenue and Exports criteria selected in the left-hand navigation menu of the Industry Wizard.

  3. To only include industries with low risk scores, open the “Risk” dropdown and select “Overall Risk Score.” Adjust the risk scale to 1-4 or your desired range.

  4. Click “View Results” in the upper right-hand corner of the tool to view your custom industry list.

  5. From here, you can sort and filter the columns to find industries of interest and jump to specific industry reports under the “Title” column. You can also export the table to Excel in the bottom left corner of the table.
