1. What is AskAbrigo?
AskAbrigo is an AI-powered banking assistant that lets you ask questions in plain language and work with information from your institution's documents, enabled Abrigo solutions, and connected third-party sources. The goal is to spend less time finding information and more time using it, whether you're researching an industry, reviewing a borrower or preparing for a meeting.
2. How does AskAbrigo retrieve IBISWorld’s data and insights?
AskAbrigo connects to IBISWorld through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP. When you ask a question that needs industry research, AskAbrigo can use the tools available through your authorized IBISWorld connection to retrieve relevant information and bring it into the response. Access depends on your IBISWorld subscription and permissions. The connection gives AskAbrigo access to research at the time of the request; it doesn't train the AI model on IBISWorld's content.
3. Are AskAbrigo’s answers explainable and auditable?
AskAbrigo supports review through source citations, visible tool activity, and saved conversation history. Document-based answers include citations, and connected-source references depend on what the source returns. You can use those references to check the information behind an answer. AI can still make mistakes, so answers should be reviewed before they're used in a credit decision, customer communication or other material work.
4. What types of questions can I answer using the IBISWorld-AskAbrigo integration?
You can ask for an industry overview, key risks, trends or benchmarks to help evaluate a borrower or prepare for a prospect meeting. You can also use the research to help draft a credit memo section or a credit committee briefing. When the relevant institution data is available through an enabled connection or uploaded file, you can ask AskAbrigo to compare that information with industry research. Portfolio analysis and other data-specific questions depend on the information and tools available in your environment.
5. Which Abrigo systems, data, and workflows can be queried in AskAbrigo?
AskAbrigo can work with uploaded documents and data exposed through enabled connections. Examples include Sageworks customer and entity information, reporting and analytics through Abrigo Connect, and industry research through IBISWorld. What you can ask depends on the products your institution uses, the connections it has enabled, and your permissions. Connecting one Abrigo product doesn't automatically make every Abrigo system or all of your institution's data available.
6. Does the AskAbrigo tool run in a separate window/tab or embed into the Abrigo interface?
AskAbrigo supports both a standalone web experience and an embedded chat experience – currently available within Sageworks. Once you're in AskAbrigo, you can use an authorized IBISWorld connection from the conversation without manually moving the research into a separate AI tool.
7. Which AI model does AskAbrigo use?
AskAbrigo uses Anthropic's Claude models through Amazon Bedrock, AWS's managed AI service. The specific model version can change as we evaluate improvements. Supporting tasks may use other Bedrock models, so there isn't necessarily one model behind every part of the experience.
8. What measures does Abrigo take to safeguard my institution’s sensitive data when using AskAbrigo?
AskAbrigo uses authenticated access, role-based permissions and institution-level data separation to control access to information. Documents and connections have their own access controls, and data is protected through encrypted connections and encrypted storage. Claude runs through Amazon Bedrock. When you use a third-party connection, the information needed for that tool request is sent to the connected service, so that service's permissions and data-handling terms also apply.
9. Does Abrigo record which questions I’ve asked AskAbrigo?
Yes. AskAbrigo stores your questions and responses as part of your conversation history. That lets you return to previous work and supports authorized review and audit activity. Conversation history is separate from model training; saving a conversation doesn't mean it's being used to train an AI model.
10. Does Anthropic retain my data and questions?
No. AskAbrigo accesses Claude through Amazon Bedrock rather than Anthropic's consumer chat service. AWS states that model providers don't have access to Bedrock customer prompts or responses. Abrigo does store conversation history, as described above. That is separate from any AWS retention that may apply under the selected model and service configuration.
11. Can my organization’s administrator see what I’ve asked in AskAbrigo?
Yes, if their role includes permission to view chat audit history. Authorized users can review questions and responses from conversations within their institution. That access is controlled by permissions; it isn't available to every user simply because they can sign in to AskAbrigo.
12. Does Abrigo use my data to train any other AI models?
No. AskAbrigo doesn't use your institution's data, uploaded documents, questions or responses to train AI models. Using information to answer a question, or saving it in conversation history, is different from training a model.
